Rogue River, California, and Crater Lake

After picking up our new diesel-pusher class A RV, we were happy to "kidnap" our Grandson Devon Northcutt for a few days.  On our first day, we traveled from the Mill Caino RV Park in North Bend, OR, and checked into Bridge View RV park in Grants Pass Oregon.  This park is mostly long-term sites, with a few transient sites, on the banks of the Rogue River.  We spent two nights here.

While at the River View RV Park, we went into Grants Pass to take a jet-boat ride on the Rogue River.  This was a fun trip and one you should try.  While there are other concessionaires giving jet-boat rides on the Rogue, we used Hellgate Jetboat Excursions and took a 2-hour ride up to "Hellgate" and back.  The trip was fast, fun and wet!  It was especially cool when the driver spun the boat 360 degrees at what seemed to me to be approximately 500 mph!

From the Bridge View RV park, we traveled into northern California to the Blue Heron RV park, at the Klamath River Ranch, off of I-5 near Yreka, California.  This is a nicely-designed park, with ample space between units, and a great view of the Klamath River.  The only drawback to this park is the complete lack of cell phone coverage, and very limited wifi service.  Here are some pictures from our stay at the Blue Heron RV park:

BB, Devon, Henri and I also took a Jeep ride to see some of the sights along the Rogue River.  One thing about Oregon; it's a state of beautiful rivers and huge barns!  The Rogue River is just one of the many beautiful waterways in this State, and it is blessed with some beautiful waterfalls.  Here are some pictures of some of the Rogue River waterfalls:

After Blue Heron, we traveled to meet Kelly and Tammy Northcutt at the Diamond Lake RV Park.  This is a park conveniently near to beautiful Crater Lake. We were fortunate to meet Mary and Phil at Tombstone Territories RV last winter, and they manage Diamond Lake RV.  It was great to see Phil and Mary and meet Phil's brother Roger and his wife Lynn.

I've seen pictures of Crater Lake all my life, but pictured do not do it justice; you simply need to see it in person.  With that said, here are some pictures of our Crater Lake trip:

From Diamond Lake, Kelly, Tammy and Devon headed out for North Bend, and BB, Henri and I headed back to Eugene (Deerwood RV Park) to take the coach in for some minor repairs. Henri was glad to be back where he could do a little 'rolling' on his front lawn.

Aaahhhh!
Till next time!
