Fredericksburg KOA

Well, the maiden voyage in the trailer turned out OK, but with a fairly high initial stress level.

F'burg KOA
The camper place didn't finish with all the modifications to the truck, the paperwork, and the walk-around until late in the afternoon.  After going back to the house and loading up the Pile-O-Camper Stuff, we didn't get to the KOA until after dark.  Thankfully, it was a pull-through and did not require any backing.  That could have been a spectacular disaster.

So after several false starts and both of us trying to remember where the switch or lever was that controlled whatever critical system we were looking for was (in the dark), we finally got it set up, leveled, hooked up and running.  Henri was absolutely no help during this whole process but did his best getting his leash hopelessly wrapped around every tree, bush and picnic table within reach.

Then, before even thinking about bed there was nothing to do but get every item of the great Pile-O-Camper Stuff sorted, alphabetized, categorized and assigned a specific location.  Then, the next day - you guessed it!  March down to Wal-Mart to get the things we had determined we still needed.

Anyway, by mid-day on Saturday, we were actually able to sit down under the Live Oak trees, drink a kold soda water and wonder what we did to deserve all this goodness.  That night, the owners of the KOA put on a kountry karaoke for all us old krocks.  Pretty kool actually as far as KOA Koncerts go. (I found out you must use the letter "K" a LOT when referring to KOA's - another RV insider tip - no exta charge;)

One of the coolest things about the evening music was that I got to dance with my lovely wife, out under the stars, on the grass, while holding Henri's leash while he danced to his own tune.

Plenty of bushes and trees and rocks for Henri, and ample squirrels and cats as well, but this weekend still upset his normally placid schedule.  He reminded us of that fact when he got sick in the trailer right after breakfast.  Yuk.  I made up for it by dumping a igloo cooler of ice water on his head while packing up this afternoon.  So right now, he's burried under his blanket and hoping for some peace and quite.  I haven't the heart to tell him that we've lined up several more trips for him to experience in the next few months.

Ratings?  Henri gives it 4 Wags.  BB and me give it a 3.0.  Till next time!
